A Sanctuary for the Tender-Hearted
Where Pain Becomes Poetry
"Every wound carries a song. Every silence holds a story."
Former ballerina turned sonic alchemist. I write music for anyone who's ever felt too much, loved too deeply, or broken too beautifully.
The Origin Story
A tale of transformation
James the Seventh is more than a musician—she is a force of transformation wrapped in sound.
A former pre-professional ballerina from the Philadelphia area, James was fluent in a language of movement long before she found her voice. But in 2020, a career-ending injury silenced the rhythm she had known her whole life. For months, she couldn’t walk. Couldn’t dance. Couldn’t move.
What followed was not just recovery—it was rebirth.
Gifted a guitar by her father during her healing, James the sixth, discovered a new form of movement: music. What began as a whisper turned into a wild confession. Her voice—once hidden in the silence of discipline—rose in defiance, softness, and soul.
As a self-taught indie alt-pop singer, songwriter, and producer, James now crafts sonic sanctuaries—spaces where grief becomes gold, and vulnerability is not just allowed, but celebrated. Her music is cinematic and immersive, drawing comparisons to Billie Eilish, Lorde, and Lana Del Rey, yet grounded in a narrative all her own: one of rising from the wreckage, making meaning out of pain, and turning brokenness into beauty.
Her songs don’t just tell stories.
They invite listeners into a ritual of becoming.
James the Seventh reminds us that the most profound voices emerge not from perfection—but from the moment everything falls apart, and something new begins. “Where Chaos Meets Presence!” James The Seventh.
